The overall aim of this SIG is to enhance Pre-school English Language teaching and learning by providing a platform for engagement of and access to viewpoints and ideas from Malaysia and around the world through an easily accessible online forum approach. The SIG will be moderated by an SIG coordinator who will guide discussions from time to time with postings on key topics in English Language Education that will last over a period of three to four weeks. These will focus on one or two of the following :

• ELT Development
  Centering on discussions on effective teaching materials, ideas for portfolios, debating and reviewing traditional teaching methods, suggestions for new methodologies , assessment practices etc.
  
  
• Literature
  Centering on the role that literature can play to enhance creative critical skills and ways to develop creativity through creative writing (short stories/poetry/drama/short films).
  
  
• Multiple Intelligences
  Centering on the Developing Multiple Literacies and addressing multiple intelligences in English Language Education – reading, writing, oracy, social, visual, multicultural, music etc
  
  
• ICT and New Media
  Centering on effective ways to incorporate ICT and new media to enhance English Language Education such as Digital Language games, ELT programmes, shareware, popular culture etc.
  
  
• Preparing for Examinations
  Centering on specific topics to do with preparing for the examinations.
  

Registered SIG members may also choose to create a topic of their own interest if it does not fall within the scope of the areas identified above.
